A Scary Thing Happened at the Gas Station...

I had to get gas yesterday. Plus it was $.25  cheaper at a station in the city than by my house.

There were six pumps, one per lane, and the station was packed. I pulled up to an open pump, knowing my tank was on the other side of the car. I figured I'd risk it, besides it was the only pump open. Anyway, I climb out of the driver's side and hear this woman in a white SUV yelling at the guy in front of her.

Apparently the guy was blocking the pump she wanted. I didn't look to see if he was getting gas or not. It didn't matter. I had to move. The shut off wouldn't reach around the back of the Cube.

I climbed back in and moved to the another pump. The woman, now successfully at the pump, hadn't given up screaming at the previous occupant who was now parked in a space near the convenience store.

She screamed, "This is why people get killed."

 Um... WHAT?

Since I clearly hadn't understood her, even though I wasn't the source of her wrath, she shouted it again.

I AM NOT KIDDING.

But I needed gas, so I kept pumping. She kept screaming toward the truck. She gassed up, climbed in her SUV, and, as she passed the truck still sitting in his parking spot, SHE SWERVED TOWARD HIM!

WHAT THE FRAK?

I am seriously concerned about humanity.

Favorite Movies

I'll admit it... I'm not to up-to-date on current movies. I finally saw Gone Girl, Mockinjay Part 1, and Dracula Untold during my vacation a few weeks back. And I just watched Warm Bodies. So, yeah, not too current. Except cartoon movies. THOSE I've seen. Bean likes movies, what can I say.
ANYWAY...
Here's a brief list of a few of my favorite movies.
Classics first:

The story behind Gone with the Wind is as epic as the movie itself. Plus it broke some serious ground. Did you know that the burning of Atlanta was the first scene filmed... before Vivian Leigh was cast as Scarlett?

Most Quotable Movie:

This is my all-time favorite comedy. When in doubt about something to say, I will almost always quote Ghostbusters.

Most Re-Watchable:

I can rewatch Ghostbusters (and Ghostbusters 2) all the time, but whenever The Shawshank Redemption comes on, I stop and WATCH it. I don't get up. I don't move. I just watch the movie and hope Andy gets justice. Every. Single. Time.

Most Adventurous Movie:

Indiana Jones made me want to be an archaeologist. I still have hope whenever its on.

Another classic:

Who doesn't love Holly Golightly?

What about you? What movies do you love?

Disappointed is the Best Word

So, if you follow me on Twitter, you know I'm a HUGE St. Louis Cardinals fan. The news yesterday was a stab in the heart. My beloved franchise has betrayed me.

Yes I know the "guilty until proven innocent" rule, but let's face facts. The FBI wouldn't be involved if the organization was 100% innocent. Whether it was one individual or a conspiracy is irrelevant. This not only makes the Cardinals look bad, but it makes the city of St. Louis look bad.

It makes every fan look bad. Whether we want to admit it or not.
I hope this was an isolated incident involving one person. I hope nothing like this happens again for any sports team. I hope that it's not as bad as it seems.

But we all know hope springs eternal.

And, guys, we all know this is NOT The Cardinal Way.

Newest Addiction: iZombie

Hello, I've been out of the blogging world for a while, with the exception of The YA Club, and I've decided it's time to start all over. BUT DON'T CALL IT A COMEBACK.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. :)
Anywho... I'm a huge Rob Thomas fan, the author not the singer (although he's not bad), and have had iZombie on my DVR since the week after it premiered. (I missed the first week. ME FAIL.) And I love love LOVE the graphic novel.
While the story is different than the comic, the show is smart and witty. (I just binged watched it.) It's exactly what I would've expected from the creator of Veronica Mars (seriously BRING THAT BACK.) So, if you haven't checked iZombie out, I highly recommend it. It definitely lives up to expectations, if not exceeds them.

Oh, and for those of you who don't know, Rob Thomas wrote an AMAZING novel. It's a must read!
